FAQ

How is the SR5000 AC Pro different from the standard SR5000

The SR5000 AC Pro is an AC-coupled battery designed primarily to add storage to an existing solar installation. It should not be confused with the standard SR5000, which has direct DC solar inputs. Before ordering, check the full model name, connection ports and supplied manual. The standard model's MPPT specifications and wiring instructions do not apply to the AC Pro.

Can I connect solar panels directly to the AC Pro

Do not connect a solar panel's DC cables to the AC Pro's AC ports. In an AC-coupled installation, the existing solar inverter converts solar power to AC, and the battery stores energy through a compatible, correctly configured system. Before ordering, provide your solar inverter model and details of the existing wiring so the proposed installation can be checked.

Will I need to replace my existing solar inverter or microinverter

That depends on your existing installation, metering, control requirements and installation conditions. AC coupling can provide a way to add storage, but it does not mean the battery is automatically compatible with every rooftop inverter or balcony microinverter. Please confirm your inverter model, whether your home has a single-phase or three-phase supply, your electricity meter and the proposed battery location.

Can it automatically match household demand and reduce grid export in Germany

These functions depend on a compatible metering and control setup. Please provide your electricity meter's make, model and available interfaces so compatibility can be confirmed. A P1 metering solution used in another country should not be assumed to work in Germany. Your quotation should identify the metering equipment, installation work and functions included in the proposed system.

Can I use the battery without a compatible household meter

Without household power measurements, automatic demand matching and zero-export control cannot be promised. Manual power settings or scheduled charging and discharging may be available, depending on the model and firmware supplied. Before ordering, confirm which operating modes are supported and what each mode can and cannot do.

Why is the energy available to my appliances lower than 5.12 kWh

The 5.12 kWh rating describes the battery's nominal energy, not a guaranteed amount of energy delivered through the AC outlet on every cycle. The reserved state of charge, conversion losses, the system's own consumption, temperature and connected load all affect the energy available. Performance comparisons should use the same starting and ending state of charge, load and measurement method.

How long can it power my appliances

As a rough guide, divide the usable AC energy by the appliances' average power demand. For example, if a system delivers 4.0 kWh of usable AC energy under a particular set of conditions, a 400 W average load would run for around 10 hours. This is an illustration, not a test result or runtime guarantee for this product. Appliances such as fridges and pumps also have starting-power requirements to consider.

Why do the specifications mention both 800 W and 2,500 W

he brochure distinguishes between the default grid-connected output, the maximum technical grid-connected output and the separate off-grid AC output. These ratings do not give permission to use every operating mode in every installation. A maximum technical rating of 2,500 W does not mean the unit may feed that power into any household socket. Settings must suit the exact model, installation and local requirements. Do not use passwords found online to unlock restricted settings yourself.
